The Reno Police Department stepped up DUI enforcement over the 4/20 weekend and arrested six people for DUI, two of which were under suspicion of being stoned, according to a police department release.
The increase in DUI patrols was funded through a Nevada Office of Traffic Safety grant and lasted from the afternoon of Saturday, April 20 through Sunday morning.
Officers made 66 total stops, wrote 31 citations for “accident causing violations” and arrested six people for DUI.
April 20 is an unofficial holiday in cannabis culture, which prompted the department to step up patrols.
