Grassroots Cannabis, a cannabis grower and retail company, has facilities in Illinois, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Michigan, Oklahoma, Ohio, Vermont, North Dakota, Arkansas and Connecticut.
Now, it has a medical marijuana facility in Emmett Township: Herbology Provisioning Center, located at 14501 Beadle Lake Road. It opened on Tuesday.
“We are thrilled to continue to expand our presence in Michigan, sharing our unparalleled expertise to further provide consumers access to safe and effective cannabis products within our inclusive environment,” said Matt Darin, chief operating officer. “The Herbology experience enhances the communities we serve.”
The center offers flowers, concentrates, vapes and edibles and dozens of different strains.
“We want to have an assortment of products,” said Talley Wettlaufer, vice president and head of retail.
Wettlaufer said Cannabis Grassroots is constantly looking to expand, and, with the rising cannabis market in Michigan, they targeted Battle Creek as a place to expand.
“Battle Creek is a great town,” she said. “We’re just excited to be a part of the community.”
Despite being a national chain, the new business wants to make their Battle Creek location feel as local as possible.
“It’s a very warm, welcoming environment,” Wettlaufer said. “The goal is to ease your symptoms and make you feel trusted.”
