NOTICE OF FILING OF PROPOSED
ORDINANCE
AND
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that proposed
Bill 2021-E, Ordinance 113, will be filed
with the County Clerk for public examination
on October 7, 2021, with a public hearing
scheduled for October 20, 2021 at approximately
1:20 PM and is entitled as follows:
TITLE: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE
16 OF THE CHURCHILL COUNTY CODE
ADOPTING NEW DEFINITIONS FROM THE
NRS RELATED TO CANNABIS ESTABLISHMENTS
AND FURTHER PROHIBITING
CANNABIS CONSUMPTION LOUNGES IN
ALL ZONING DISTRICTS.
SUMMARY: Since the time that Churchill
County passed its ordinance prohibiting marijuana
establishments, the Nevada Legislature
has changed the definition of those establishments
and moved those related laws to a
different section in the NRS. This ordinance
amends the Churchill County Code to reflect
those changes. Further, this ordinance adds
cannabis consumption lounges to those types
of land uses prohibited in all zoning districts
in response to the 2021 Nevada Legislature
removing that prohibition under state law.
The public hearing will be held in the Churchill
County Commission Chambers, 155 N.
Taylor St., Fallon, Nevada, for discussion
and action on the above-noted proposed Bill
2021-E. Copies of the proposed ordinance
are available at the County Clerk’s Office,
155 No. Taylor St., Suite 110, Fallon, Nevada,
for inspection by all interested parties.
