Carson City Trio arrested for illegal marijuana operation, 850 pounds seized – Carson Now

On September 14, 2020, the Nevada Department of Public Safety (DPS), Division of Investigations (NDI) Tri-NET Narcotic Task Force conducted an operation with partnering local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.

The operation resulted in the eradication of an illegal marijuana garden in the Erasta Springs/Eldorado Canyon area in southeast Carson City. 503 mature plants were eradicated and seized for a total weight of 850 pounds.

Partnering agencies assisting in the operation included the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, Special Enforcement Team (SET), Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Street Enforcement Team (DCSO-SET), Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Nevada National Guard (Counter Drug Unit), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force.

On September 29, 2020, multiple search and arrest warrants were executed in the Carson City and Douglas County areas, resulting in three individuals’ arrest connected to the illegal marijuana grow.

Miguel Aguilera-Angulo; Felony Trafficking in Marijuana – booked into Carson City Jail. Bail set at $10,000.

Oscar Ortega-Aguilera; Felony Trafficking in Marijuana – booked into Douglas County Jail, transferred to Carson City Jail. Bail set at $10,000.

Miriam Colin- Vera; Possession of a Controlled Substance – booked into Carson City Jail. Bail set at $2500.

The Tri-Net Narcotic Taskforce is comprised of the Nevada DPS, Investigations Division, Carson City Sheriff’s Office, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Nevada National Guard Counter Drug Unit, and Homeland Security Investigations.

The Nevada DPS, NDI, oversees five multi-jurisdictional task forces throughout Nevada, which operate in partnership with the impacted local law enforcement agencies.
