A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Monday for suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon and suspicion of misdemeanor assault constituting domestic violence, a sheriff’s booking report states.
Caedron Douglas was taken into custody at 2:45 a.m. According to the booking report, deputies responded to a report of a male threatening a member of his household with a sword.
Deputies arrived on scene and located the male suspect sitting in front of the residence on the curb with his head in his hands and a samurai sword in the gutter a few feet away, the report states.
A deputy spoke with the suspect who identified himself. He told the officer he had smoked a large quantity of marijuana and was driving around town and stopped at a gas station to refuel, the arrest report states. He said he saw that he had missed a phone call from a younger member of his household and believed the person was in danger from another person in the house.
The 19-year-old told deputies he arrived at the home, and grabbed a “blow torch” and then grabbed a sword and threatened the older person in the household with it. Officers interviewed the older member of the household, who advised he was threatened by the suspect who had “two small torch lighters in his hands” and later a sword while the the younger member of the household locked themselves in a bathroom and was afraid.
The deputy described the suspect as “emotional and cooperative” in the arrest report. The suspect was arrested and booked on the charges listed. Bail: $23,137.
