Friday, July 2nd, brought in $89,600,000 in cannabis sales as Americans prepared for Independence Day
Business intelligence from Akerna (Nasdaq: KERN), an enterprise software, leading compliance technology provider, and developer of the cannabis industry’s first seed-to-sale enterprise resource planning (ERP) software technology (MJ Platform®), shows that Friday, July 2nd, the beginning of 4th of July weekend, was the second largest sales day for the cannabis industry in 2021 with $89,600,000 in retail sales, only falling behind 420’s sales.
“The 4th of July weekend has historically been in the top 10 sales days of the year for cannabis, and this years’ holiday weekend supported that trend,” said James Ahrendt, Business Intelligence Architect at Akerna. “We correctly predicted that Friday, the start of the holiday weekend, would see the most traffic, which has been a trend for other holidays this year as well.”
